I. Home Safety: The Foundation of Protecting the Family and Yourself
Door, Window and Anti-Theft Safety
"Please be sure to check the doors and windows before going out—lock the main door properly and close the windows of the balcony and bedrooms. Especially before going to bed at night, double-check to prevent strangers from entering, so we can all live more securely~"
"If someone knocks on the door, first look through the peephole to see who it is. Do not open the door for strangers, such as those claiming to be maintenance workers or couriers. Please let me know first, and you can handle it after I confirm. Do not easily let strangers into the house~"
Water, Electricity and Gas Safety
"After using the gas in the kitchen, remember to turn off the main gas valve. Especially when leaving the kitchen after cooking, double-check to avoid gas leaks, which are dangerous. If you smell gas, first open the windows for ventilation, do not turn on any electrical appliances, and let me know immediately~"
"Before going to bed at night or going out, please check the main power switches in the living room and kitchen. For example, unplug the rice cooker and electric kettle to avoid safety hazards caused by long-term power supply. Thank you for paying extra attention~"
"The fire extinguisher at home is placed on the bottom shelf of the living room cabinet, and the smoke detector is on the ceiling. If you see the smoke detector beeping or there is a small fire, first use the fire extinguisher to put it out. If you cannot control the fire, immediately take the elderly/children out of the house, then call me. Do not take risks alone~"
"Do not pile up too many sundries on the balcony or in the kitchen, especially flammable items like cartons and plastic bottles. Keep the passages unobstructed so we can escape quickly in case of an emergency~"
II. Operational Safety: Avoid Accidents While Working
Safety in Household Chores
"When cutting vegetables with a kitchen knife, remember to be careful and not cut too fast. Keep your fingers away from the blade. If you accidentally cut your finger, the first-aid kit at home is in the bathroom cabinet. First disinfect it with iodophor, then wrap it with an adhesive bandage. If the injury is serious, let me know and we will go to see a doctor~"
"When cleaning high places like glass or cabinets, do not stand on the edge of a chair. There is a folding ladder at home, placed in the corner of the balcony. Open it and place it stably before standing on it to avoid falling. Safety comes first~"
Safety in Using Electrical Appliances and Tools
"Before using electrical appliances such as the washing machine or microwave oven, if you are not sure how to use them, do not press the buttons randomly. Ask me first, and I will teach you how to operate them to avoid damaging the appliances or getting an electric shock~"
"When cleaning with a vacuum cleaner, do not suck up large hard objects like coins or toy parts, as they can easily get stuck in the machine. If the machine makes an abnormal noise, immediately turn off the power and do not continue using it. Let me know and we will check it together~"
Safety When Taking Care of Family Members
"When taking the baby out for a walk, be sure to engage the stroller brake to prevent the stroller from sliding away on its own. When crossing the road, look left and right, walk on the crosswalk, and do not run a red light. If the baby cries outside, first find a safe place to stop and comfort them. Do not comfort the baby while walking, as it is easy to get distracted~"
"When helping the elderly take a bath, remember to put a non-slip mat on the bathroom floor to prevent the elderly from slipping. When fetching things for the elderly, do not let them stand on a stool by themselves. You can fetch the things for them to prevent the elderly from falling and getting injured~"
III. Personal and Outdoor Safety: Protect Your Own Safety
Safety When Going Out for Shopping
"When going out to shop, remember to keep your wallet and mobile phone safe. Do not put them in the outer pocket of your coat, as they are easy to be stolen. If you go to a crowded place, pay more attention to the people around you. Come back early after shopping and do not stay outside for too long, especially at night~"
"When crossing the road, be sure to walk on the crosswalk. Wait for the green light before crossing, do not jaywalk, and do not look at your mobile phone while walking. Pay attention to the passing vehicles—safe road crossing is the most important~"
Health and Emergency Safety
"If you feel unwell, such as having a fever or a stomachache, do not endure it. Let me know immediately. I will take you to see a doctor or buy some medicine for you. Do not bear it alone—you need to rest in time when you are unwell~"
"If you encounter an emergency outside, such as someone asking for directions or help, first confirm the other person’s situation. Do not easily go with a stranger. If you feel unsafe, immediately walk to a crowded place, then call me and I will help you as soon as possible~"
"Do not reveal information about the family to strangers, such as our home address or the work information of family members. Do not lend the house keys to others either. If someone asks about such information, let me know first to avoid risks caused by information leakage~"
"Do not randomly click on unfamiliar links on your mobile phone, and do not believe in prize-winning information in strange text messages, as it is easy to be scammed. If you receive strange messages, let me know and we will check together whether it is a scam~"
